What a week to begin a new blog! It's almost like the industry decided to go on their summer holidays and leave me with nothing to comment on.
Hopefully this next week will be more dynamic. It's a sad state of affairs when the most exciting news for bargain mobile users is the launch of Post Office Mobile - I'd never expect "The Post Office" and exciting to fit into the same sentence, but on this occasion they have created a new MVNO on the EE network whose monthly bundles really are very, very good value, depending on what you need.
Their £5/month bundle is exceptional value, and the best currently available at the moment.
£5 gets you 250 minutes, 3000 texts and 500MB of data - Most networks would charge you at least £10 a month for this package, yet this isn't even a SIM only contract.
Some other MVNOs come close to this, but don't match the data, minutes and/or texts, so to discover a new MVNO that does offer such great value is quite a result.
The next few weeks should also be interesting, with the UK launch of FreedomPop and Three's #makeitright promotion. The UK PAYG market is shaping up to be interesting at last, and I'm here to analyse it.
